Drumroll, please….. The first ever High Five Award goes to Nikki Fletcher. High Fives Nikki! 👋 Nikki has experienced some amazing changes in her approach to training over the last several months. She has really committed to our Habits for Massive Impact. This has allowed her to lose some serious inches and Nikki even says that she loves the way she feels when she is moving! She has even gotten her family to adopt some amazing nutrition habits. Nikki’s positive attitude is contagious - we have never seen Nikki in a bad mood, in fact, she has one of the biggest, best smiles every time she walks in the door. This type of approach to life and to her efforts in the gym have lead to great success!

She has gained the confidence to do all of the things in life that she loves doing and has also fallen in love with some new activities. Melissa has gotten very into mud runs and obstacle course races and even organized a team from Wilcox to participate in the first Wicked Muddy Mainer this year. It hasn’t been an easy path for Melissa – she has experienced some set backs with injuries that she sustained while doing an obstacle course race. This is where the story gets good – most people would use this as justification to Netflix & Chill. Not Melissa. She was back to her training session just one week after breaking her ankle. Our trainers were able to make modifications to stabilize her ankle so that she could still remain consistent with her training program. Wilcox Wellness & Fitness Tammy McLaughlinTammy has such a positive attitude and is an absolute joy to train. Her positive energy and strong work ethic is contagious and especially helpful during the Early Bird sessions when most people are half asleep. We just love that Tammy is always willing to try new exercises and the brightness that she brings to the training sessions. From Tammy:"My name is Tammy McLaughlin, I'm 43 years old, I am a certified dental assistant and clinical team leader at creative Dental Solutions, and I also hold a massage therapy license on the side.
I was so nervous about making email contact, I scoured every inch of the website over and over and over again and I bet I filled out that initial contact form a dozen times before I actually hit send. I was so worried about feeling uncomfortable and out of place like I had in past other gyms, but I very quickly found that I had nothing to worry about. The trainers are wonderful group of people I love every one of them. Their positivity, caring, and happiness is contagious, and the people that I work out with, they're like family. I love that it feels like we're all in it together. I look forward to seeing these people everyday and I love to meet new clients because I know how much they're going to love it here too. I was miserable. I'd been physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted for so long. I was stuck in a routine of terrible insomnia only to fall asleep 30 minutes before my alarm would go off, and then hit snooze 5 times, not having enough time to eat breakfast and then head off for a very long day of work. Then after work I would come home eat and fall asleep in front of the recliner until it was time to get up and go to bed and then repeat. I had chronic headaches, chronic brain fog, and a chronic bad mood which wasn't good for anyone. I also have a family history of Alzheimer's disease. If that's in the cards for me in the future, will committing to a healthy lifestyle change that for me? I hope so, either way I want to ensure that I'm able to fully enjoy my life whatever the future brings. I think the biggest impact for me is that training here has given me back control of my life. It's so much easier from the state I'm in right now to be aware of how I'm feeling both mentally and physically, and how little change is an activity and nutrition have such a huge effect. I have so much more energy than I had before. I no longer have a chronic headache and I can think so much more clearly, and I'm just generally so much more happy." "I have totally enjoyed working out at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness. It was a great move for me to join and I couldn't be happier. I look forward to gaining strength and endurance over the weeks and months to come.
Pete Warner went through our KickStart Program about a year ago and has stuck with his training sessions for the past 365 days and has seen incredible results. Pete recently published this follow up article describing his health and fitness journey at WILCOX. “A year into this new regimen, I’m stronger and more agile. My balance has improved tremendously and I have more stamina… Doing yard work and other projects that may have once induced fatigue is now easier. Trudging through the woods on deer hunting expeditions also is more enjoyable.” states Pete in his article. It just goes to show you how much your life can change by focusing on healthy habits that are sustainable for a lifetime! We are so impressed with Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is a stay at home mom to a 6-month old and 3 year old. She started training with us because she wanted more energy and stamina to keep up with her busy household.
Kim is doing an amazing job in our program! She is balancing it all - she is a busy working mom who has made the decision to be committed to her health and fitness. Kim is attending 3 training sessions a week and is enjoying her new healthy lifestyle. Way to go Kim!
