Some people inspire others with dramatic before-and-after photos. Others inspire through quiet consistency. Denise inspires us with something just as powerful: her honesty, her humor, and her unwavering commitment to keep showing up. She'll be the first to tell you that her journey isn't finished. In fact, she'd probably tell you exactly what she's still working on. But that's what makes Denise's story so relatable. She understands that lasting health isn't about perfection it's about continuing to move forward, one workout at a time.
Denise laughs that she's "always working on the weight." The strength is there, she says. Now she's focused on letting the rest follow. That perspective says so much about her journey. Rather than chasing quick fixes, she's focused on building a stronger body first trusting that the other pieces will come with consistency. Looking back, Denise is most proud that she stayed with the program. She admits progress hasn't always happened as quickly as she hoped, but over the past several months she's leaned into the process, applied herself, and is finally seeing the needle move in meaningful ways. Perhaps one of her biggest victories has nothing to do with the scale. The hip pain that used to affect her daily life is now gone. That's the kind of progress that changes how you live. And while Denise enjoys just about every workout we throw at her hammering the tire, ball slams, boxing, push-ups, and (on good days... don't tell anyone) even burpees she'll also happily admit that dead bugs and marching bridges still have her scratching her head. We all have those exercises.
She's experienced seasons in life where she felt strong, athletic, energetic, and confident in her body. She wants that feeling again. Not because she's chasing who she used to be but because she knows she's capable of feeling vibrant, strong, and full of energy again. That vision continues to pull her forward. Denise's greatest inspiration comes from her parents. Now in their mid-to-late 80s, they've continued to prioritize their health despite significant challenges. Her father, an aortic dissection survivor, still goes to the gym and practices Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Her mother has courageously battled depression for years and continues to face each day with remarkable resilience. Their determination reminds Denise that strength isn't just physical - it's choosing to keep showing up, no matter what life brings.
