March Athlete of the Month - Heather Ross

Heather joined Wilcox with a simple but powerful goal: to feel stronger and have more energy. Just six months in, she can confidently say she’s achieved both,  and the ripple effects have gone far beyond what she expected!

Heather wanted to feel strong again. She wanted more energy for her daily life and for her family. What she didn’t expect was just how quickly that strength would translate into real-life wins, like running up stairs with little effort and feeling confident committing to physical activity she hadn’t done in years.

That renewed confidence has opened doors. Activities that once felt out of reach are now back on the table.

Like many of us, Heather is still working on creating consistency with healthy eating and snacking. She openly shares that it continues to be a challenge, but what stands out is her mindset. She’s cooking more, eating at home more often, and approaching her health with balance rather than perfection.

That healthy mindset is what makes long-term progress sustainable.


Heather describes her biggest accomplishment in one powerful phrase: “Sticking to it.”

The consistency with which she shows up surprises even her.

That steady commitment has built noticeable strength, endurance, and confidence. She’s stronger. She has more energy. She keeps up with her kids more easily. And perhaps most importantly, she’s changed her perspective on exercise entirely.

She used to believe exercise might always feel like a chore. Now she knows it doesn’t have to.

When it comes to favorite exercises, Heather loves the Halo Ball Slams - powerful, dynamic, and a little fierce (which feels fitting). The ropes? Not her favorite… yet. But even there, she’s seeing progress — and that’s exactly the WILCOX way.

Heather is motivated by something deeply meaningful: being strong enough to keep up with her kids.
She’s also found unexpected motivation in the community around her. She didn’t anticipate discovering such a strong sense of connection at the gym, but that community has become an important part of why she continues to show up.

She draws inspiration from her mom, who seamlessly incorporates movement into daily life, walking, biking, swimming, modeling the belief that exercise supports both mental and physical health. That example continues to guide Heather’s own commitment.

Heather shares that Wilcox has helped her successfully invest in herself.

She didn’t believe it was possible to fit effective workouts into her schedule, but now she knows it is. With the right structure, coaching, and support, she’s created space for her health in a busy life.

That shift alone is transformative.

Even on the rare days she doesn’t feel like coming in, she goes anyway, and she always leaves feeling better.
That consistency is the quiet superpower behind her progress.
