WILCOX Trainer Promise

TRX Suspension Training

At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness we use many different training methods to help our clients achieve great results.  The TRX is one of the training tools that we use in our sessions to help people build strength, flexibility, coordination, core stability, and increased range of motion. 
 
TRX gives you a fun, functional way to develop strength and give yourself an advantage in whatever endeavors you pursue. TRX also works your body the way it’s built to move as an integrated, interconnected unit. 
 
TRX training sessions at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness are designed for all fitness levels as the resistance is determined by body positioning.  Check out our TRX sessions as part of our group training program!
 

Functional Training

We follow a functional training style - training your body the way it was designed to move.  We use many different pieces of equipment to help our clients build strength, improve cardiovascular conditioning, gain mobility and flexibility while keeping the sessions fun and engaging.  

The BOSU ball is one of the versatile fitness tools we use in our training sessions.  The BOSU ball allows you to work on your cardio conditioning, flexibility, and overall strength. 

The first time you use a BOSU ball you may be a little bit wobbly – this is your body learning how to use all of your small stabilizing muscles.  It will take some practice but in time you will build these muscles and gain a lot of stability around your joints as a result.

Peak Performance System

At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness, we have developed a program we call the Peak Performance System.  This Peak Performance System is one of the key success factors to help our clients reach their goals and make the most of the time with your trainer at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness.

This system includes Foam Rolling & a Dynamic Warmup that is performed before the workout and Corrective / Cool Down Exercises done after the workout.

This system is designed to help you reach your goals more quickly by: getting you mentally and physically prepared for your workout; reducing the risk of injury; allowing you to workout harder and more effectively; and helping you gain mobility & flexibility so you can move better in your daily life.

Kettlebell Training

The kettlebell is an excellent tool that we use to help our clients: Improve coordination, agility, posture, and alignment.  Kettlebells can also be used to help enhance cardiovascular conditioning, strength, and flexibility.  In our group training program, we have a kettlebell and TRX session that is focused on building functional strength throughout the body.  Come let us show you how much fun training with kettlebells is and let us help you get some amazing results.  

Mobility in Motion

​​Mobility is something that most people struggle with on a daily basis.  When you have limited range of motion everyday tasks can be a challenge.  At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness we follow a functional training style – that means we work to prepare the body for everyday life. 
 
In addition to our cardiovascular and strength training we also focus on mobility and flexibility so that we can more more freely and gracefully in our daily life.  This focus on mobility and flexibility also help prevent injury which gives our clients the confidence to play harder.

Plyo Partner Training

Plyo Partner training is a fun way to get an incredible workout. In just a few exercises you can get an amazing, dynamic workout that will test your athleticism, core strength, and balance.

Trainer Form Clinic

​Weekly our trainers work on breaking down each movement inch by inch to ensure that our clients are using the best form & technique. This focus on form helps our clients make the most out of every rep of every exercise. Workout smarter, not harder! Happy Training!

The Power of Compound Movement

​30 minutes a few times per week is all it takes to get serious results when compound movement is utilized.  Our Group Personal Training program gets it all in so you can get in, get out, and get on with your life.  Watch the time fly by...

When to Push & When to Rest

​In your training sessions, knowing when to rest, and when to push is tricky.  When you find the right balance, you will take your training sessions to the next level and accelerate your results.  This session was designed for each person to learn their body better to determine the best time to push through or take a break to regroup and refocus.  
 
The goal of our trainer team at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness is to design workouts that constantly challenge participants at a level they can effectively work at and provide guidance to help correct technique or suggest rest.  Take the time to learn your body and take your training sessions to the next level.  The trainer team at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness is here to help you every step along your training journey and will help you know when to push and when to rest.     

Tabata Training Method

​​At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness we follow a functional training style – preparing the body for everyday life.  In our training sessions, we use different methods to help our clients achieve the best results possible. One of these methods is TABATA or interval training. The Tabata portion of a workout lasts only four minutes, but it's likely to be one of the more challenging four minutes you have ever faced. The structure of the program is working hard for 20 seconds, resting for 10 seconds and completing eight rounds. You can do your own Tabata workout at home using your own body weight and and a stopwatch.

What is Boot Camp All About?

​Boot Camp at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness is run by certified personal trainers and designed to get people to reach their goals and exceed their potential.  Boot Camp Training is an energetic interval workout that combines cardiovascular training, resistance training, and sports conditioning training that is physically challenging, emotionally & spiritually uplifting, and a ton of fun.
