We are in the business of getting lasting, sustainable results for our clients. Our mission is to inspire people to enhance their lives by forming healthful habits they can sustain for a lifetime. We study the obstacles that get in the way of people achieving long term success. In our business we have been able to remove a lot of the barriers that get in the way of people committing to regular exercise – scheduling issues, not knowing what to do when they get to the gym, motivation to complete the plan once they get to the gym, not knowing if their form and technique is on point, etc… The “all or nothing” mindset can be a major reason why people fall off the healthy living bandwagon. In this message we hope to shift your mindset so this doesn’t happen to you. First lets explain the story with our imaginary friend Sally. Sally is ready to get in shape! She throws out all the junk food in her house and signs up to hit the gym 5 times per week! She decides that she is going to ‘eat healthy’ so she buys all of the health food she can find – rice cakes, frozen veggie burgers, calorie controlled frozen dinners, and more rabbit food. Motivation is through the roof her first week or two…maybe even three. Then reality creeps in. She misses sugar. She misses real food. Cravings are legit. She’s sore and tired. Things were “easier” before she started this new venture. Something comes up you fill in the blank her best friend from college comes for a visit, her 3 year old gets sick with the strep throat, work gets crazy busy SO she misses a few days in the gym. Then she justifies skipping a few more days in the gym. It’s a stressful time, she is out of her routine, her habits haven’t become SOLID yet and she finds herself back in the bakery because she’s been working hard and she “deserves” it. Just like that she is off the wagon. She has gone from ALL. To now NOTHING. Within 6-12 weeks of starting the journey, Susan is right back to where she started – eating what she wants and not working out…except now she’s got a gym membership bill to pay for each month. It does not have to be that way. I’m not sharing this story to be negative! I’m sharing it because this is the reality that many of the people we’ve worked with here at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness have faced in the past, and they’ve been able to change that story. We understand that slip ups happen and we help mentally prepare our clients to get back on the train. It’s simple – what happened yesterday does not matter – it is the choice that you make in this very moment that counts for your future. Instead of going from 0 to 60mph overnight, if Sally had taken less of an all or nothing approach, she would still be on track. Defining a REAL, sustainable plan of action is one of the top ways we help our clients get results. We also keep it super simple. We have 5 Habits for Massive Impact that we want clients to commit to… All we want you to do is: starting your day with breakfast, nourishing yourself throughout the day with healthful snacks, eat whole foods only, drink half your body weight in fluid ounces of water, and making it to just 3 training sessions per week. Follow these habits just 80% of the time and you will be good as gold! We also will encourage you to be slow to implement these changes. Focus on one habit at a time and build off that momentum. If you’ve ever tried to change everything overnight, you know it rarely works. Maybe you even relate to Sally’s story or you know someone who relates.

You have big goals. There’s a result you desire. You want to live a BIG life that is free of limitations. Maybe your goals are weight loss related, maybe it is to start your own business or change careers, maybe it’s to play with your kids without getting winded, or run your first 5k, or maybe it’s to get off your blood pressure medication. Whatever it is, your daily habits are going to have more impact on meeting that goal and sustaining it in the long term. If you or someone you know has ever gone to extreme measures to lose weight – diet pills, surgery, starvation diets, etc – the chances are VERY small that they were successful. And if they were, chances are that they couldn’t sustain the result. The reason is… They were chasing a result while ignoring the process and focusing on the daily habits that shape their life. To be successful with anything long term, whether it’s nutrition, weight loss, fitness, business, performance – literally anything – you have to learn to fall in love with the process. It’s not some grand action that gets you to lose 30 pounds. It’s the accumulation of the choices you make each and every day – the PROCESS – the HABIT - that gets you to the RESULT, not the other way around. So if you ever find yourself frustrated with progress toward a desired outcome, be sure to stop and ask yourself – “are the behaviors I’m practicing every single day going to lead to the result I desire?” The answer should be pretty clear. And if the answer is “no”, what are you willing to change to make the answer “yes”? Habit change is not easy. It is HARD! Think about what you do on a daily basis – are these habits bringing you closer or further away from your goal? We don’t suggest going for a full lifestyle overhaul all at once, but rather be conscious of the choices you’re making each day knowing that each choice either widens or closes the gap between you and your goals. Need extra support with this? Download our Habits for Massive Impact PDF to learn about the 5 habits that we believe will have the most impact in your life. What choice do you continuously find yourself making in your daily life that you’d like to commit to changing to bring you closer to your goal? Hit reply and share your insights!

He took the group through an 8 minute warm up, which consisted of full- body myofascial releases. Then, we moved on to a flow warm- up, followed by a circuit and cone game. The workout was intended to start out slow and speed up throughout, while allowing each person to be as competitive with others and against themselves as they wanted. During the cone game, players had 3 timed rounds to turn over as many cones as possible while they skillfully darted around obstacles in the way. Two people at a time competed against each other to turn all the cones one way or the other and try to beat each other to the cones in a time limit. Nick proved to be the champion overall in this competition. The group ended the workout with a different circuit that focused on different muscles.
