As I am writing this, I am sitting here thinking about my last month, boy what a whirlwind, time flies when you are busy and having fun!! Now has it all been fun? Not exactly but it has been interesting and rewarding both at the same time. Ok down to business, the workouts are simply amazing, first off every time you go to a session you never know what is going to happen, the coaches/trainers are always changing things up, I don’t think I have done any one exercise twice in the months that I have gone. (Mind you I am on week 8.) Some exercises in the class yes, I have done, but mostly the classes as a whole are always different!! There is something to be said for that, you never get bored to say the least, and you work different muscle groups all the time. Sneak a peak at one of my training sessions: There are some areas of my muscles that I have serious issues with, but I find that these areas challenge me more and give me more drive to overcome the lack of muscle. I will admit that it is sometimes embarrassing to me to think that I cannot do some of these exercises, but the environment that this family provides does not make you feel that way at all, as a matter of fact, I can vividly remember one session, where I was doing something that was not real comfortable for me and right at the start of doing this I said, “I’m going to give this my all”, it was a tough session, I kept on going as best I could and the rest of the people in the session started to cheer me on!! I looked and they were all cheering and clapping! What a great sense of accomplishment this gave me. The best part is we are a team and here to help each other, keep in mind this was a training session that I had not done before and some of the people did not even know me. I left that day knowing we are all family here and that is so inspiring. Overall I am enjoying my time and feeling better! Not as good as I am hoping to get, but better, a whole lot better than 8 weeks ago, I am doing a lot of things that I found was either very hard or almost impossible to do 8 weeks ago! Small steps one training session after another. I will get in shape and conquer this! I got this with the help of my Wilcox family! Enjoy be happy and live healthy!

In just 2 short weeks we will be open for PRIME TIME in Brunswick, Maine! So very exciting and it feels surreal. The amount of work that goes into franchising a business is pretty incredible but it will all be worth it! We had such an awesome visit with the whole family in Brunswick on New Years Eve. Our son, Hazen who is 4 and our daughter, Brooklyn who is 1 year and 5 days joined us for a visit. The gym is coming together nicely. Allison and her team have done an incredible job getting set up. Brunswick, Maine - you are in for a treat! I couldn't help myself, I also did a little video walk through... MaineBiz stopped in and did an awesome article on the opening of our Brunswick location. THEN the week of January 14th we will be hosting 20 FREE training sessions in Brunswick. Be sure to get registered HERE: It's happening! It's going to be awesome.
We are beyond excited for the impact Wilcox Wellness & Fitness will have in Brunswick. Happy Training! Wilcox Wellness & Fitness "Just like me It’s been nearly a couple of months now at Wilcox and all I can say is… it has been great! At first, the sight of all of the fit people throwing, pushing, jumping and lifting was intimidating! Now I realize that all are just like me - working people who are taking time out of their busy schedules to get fit. They are all figuring out the best time of day, the best class, their favorite group workout, their favorite trainer (note - they are ALL my favorite at Wilcox), and assessing their personal workout goals - and they all started the same way I did…. one class at a time. My very first training session was GPT1. Each exercise was thoroughly explained by the trainer, including ideal posture and its purpose. From the first minute of this session 30-minute session to the last, I learned so much! I may not have done it stronger than the person next to me, I may not have finished the same amount of reps as the person next to me - but I did them all. Fast forward to last week, about a month and a half later - I finished the 12-days of fitness workout with Katie! I would not have finished that 7 weeks earlier. What advice would I give to someone just starting this training journey? Figure out who you are, what you can accomplish and do it on purpose. Start easy, learn the right way to train and then push yourself each day. Push your boundaries - do another rep, pick up a heavier weight or sign up for a harder class. I never would have thought that I would like boxing, but after trying it - I feel stronger! For me, the hardest part of the Wilcox training program is over - I made changes to my lifestyle and I have stuck with it. I believe that I'm on the right track to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and hitting the targets I need to improve my health. I love my workouts and especially love the people who are encouraging my journey. Want to start a training program at Wilcox? Start by walking through the door and meeting people... just like you. Are you curious about our training program? Or our community of super positive, awesome people that are chomping at the bit to support people just like you?
