In order to teach others how to move their bodies better, the trainer team here devotes themselves to a weekly practice in a few different ways.
We all have our own personal workshops where we experiment with new movements or fine-tune movements we want to do with clients.
This is when we truly make gains in improving our overall structure and body mechanics.
In other words, we improve our posture and how our bodies perform the movement, thus keeping us away from injuries that may occur down the road otherwise. If you are not currently working with a personal trainer to get the feedback you truly deserve, you are prolonging your results in a massive way. The work a great trainer and coach can do for you is well beyond what you can imagine! Put yourself out there, invest in yourself, your well-being, get some feedback from a great coach and apply across your life!! You can do it! Happy training, Mike WANT MORE OF THIS? Our team is always hard at work practicing and developing training methods to serve our clients better. We are moving in the direction of something called Functional Patterns and the theory is that we can help people move better by retraining some of the primal movement patterns. Here is a look at Mike's practice session today. I love seeing how inspired and committed this team is to continuously developing our training program and getting just a little bit better every day. The team makes training look so easy but the truth is so much hard work goes in behind the scenes. They push themselves to the edge learning new movements so that they can more closely relate to how new or inexperienced clients are feeling throughout the training sessions. So thankful for this group of incredibly committed beautiful souls. Lots of love, Wilcox Wellness & Fitness WANT MORE OF THIS? Be sure to connect with us on Social Media. It is so inspiring to me to see how hard Mike works with our trainer team to push our training methods and training program forward. Here is a look at Mike and our Senior Trainer, Katie working together via LIVEStream on Functional Pattern movements. We continue to study and work and practice to help our clients move better and live better with less pain. When life throws lemons - you move your entire business online, you look for reasons to make it work, you look to what you can control, and you look for the positive in every moment. When you have limited range of motion everyday tasks such as reaching for something out of the backseat of your car can be a challenge. At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness we follow a functional training style – that means we work to prepare the body for everyday life.
In addition to our cardiovascular and strength training we also focus on mobility and flexibility so that we can more more freely and gracefully in our daily life. This focus on mobility and flexibility also help prevent injury which gives our clients the confidence to play harder. Our mission at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness is to help our clients enhance their lives through forming healthful habits that they can sustain for a lifetime. We are constantly looking to improve and find better ways to coach, motivate, and inspire our clients. We work together weekly in a trainer skills workshop where experiment on each other and polish new skills and techniques for our training sessions with clients. Each week, we assign one of our trainers with a different challenge to help elevate our program. In this session, Scott’s challenge was ‘Mobility in Motion’ – helping our clients address typical areas of tightness. Scott put us through some amazing shoulder and hip mobility movements. We all felt amazing when the session was over. Focusing on these type of mobility exercises will help you with your posture and overall range of motion. Our Peak Performance System – which is our 2-part warm up and 1-part cool down -works these type of mobility movements into our training program. Work on your mobility as part of your training plan – you will be so glad you did! Happy Training! The kettlebell is an excellent tool that we use to help our clients: Improve coordination, agility, posture, and alignment. Kettlebells can also be used to help enhance cardiovascular conditioning, strength, and flexibility. In our group training program, we have a kettlebell and TRX session that is focused on building functional strength throughout the body. Come let us show you how much fun training with kettlebells is and let us help you get some amazing results.
Today we had a great In-Service from Physical Therapist, Dennis Mullins from Therapy Solutions on the importance of for Dynamic Stability. The trainers are pumped to use what they learned today in their upcoming training sessions.
Weekly our trainers work on breaking down each movement inch by inch to ensure that our clients are using the best form & technique. This focus on form helps our clients make the most out of every rep of every exercise. Workout smarter, not harder! Happy Training! At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness, we place a huge focus on form. So huge that our trainer team dedicates an hour every week to work with each other to break down each movement inch by inch to ensure that you, our clients are using the best form and technique. This is will always allow you to progress more quickly without risk of injury. We want to help you work smarter rather than one hundred miles per hour by using the proper form and technique for every rep of every exercise. You may find that we take the time to slow you down to help you with your technique. We would rather have you do something super slow with little or no weight than to do it with bad form with heavy weight this, in the long run is going to help you progress more quickly.
Happy Training from all of us at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness!!! Here is a snippet of the Metabolic Functional Circuit Katie put the trainers through today for the trainer development session. The goal of the metabolic functional circuit was to keep the heart rate high while building a foundation of exercises to prepare for everyday movements – ex: rotating while shoveling snow. This style of metabolic functional training boosts the metabolism for hours after leaving the gym. Thanks for a great workout Katie! |
