Mobility is something that most people struggle with on a daily basis. When you have limited range of motion everyday tasks such as reaching for something out of the backseat of your car can be a challenge. At Wilcox Wellness & Fitness we follow a functional training style – that means we work to prepare the body for everyday life.
In addition to our cardiovascular and strength training we also focus on mobility and flexibility so that we can more more freely and gracefully in our daily life. This focus on mobility and flexibility also help prevent injury which gives our clients the confidence to play harder. Our mission at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness is to help our clients enhance their lives through forming healthful habits that they can sustain for a lifetime. We are constantly looking to improve and find better ways to coach, motivate, and inspire our clients. We work together weekly in a trainer skills workshop where experiment on each other and polish new skills and techniques for our training sessions with clients. Each week, we assign one of our trainers with a different challenge to help elevate our program. In this session, Scott’s challenge was ‘Mobility in Motion’ – helping our clients address typical areas of tightness. Scott put us through some amazing shoulder and hip mobility movements. We all felt amazing when the session was over. Focusing on these type of mobility exercises will help you with your posture and overall range of motion. Our Peak Performance System – which is our 2-part warm up and 1-part cool down -works these type of mobility movements into our training program. Work on your mobility as part of your training plan – you will be so glad you did! Happy Training!
