Ducks in a Row

“I need to get my ducks in a row.”

This is the phrase that I hear a lot from people… and it is a phrase that is a dream stealer. And it is a lie...

I need to get my ducks in a row…

Before I get healthy.

Before I start my business.

Before I go on this trip I have always dreamed of.

Whatever the case may be, that dream-killing phrase is never the truth.

Because you’re always ready before you think that you are.

That phrase simply buys time, and it’s a sneaky form of procrastination that will keep you stuck indefinitely.

You will NEVER have your “ducks in a row.”

It’s just another way of saying “when the timing is perfect,” which we also know isn’t a real thing.

I wanted to highlight this today so that the next time you or someone you love utters this naughty little phrase of lies, you can recognize it.

Call yourself or your loved one out.

Own the truth – the truth that the only solution is action anyway.

And you’ll all be better for it.

Let's Talk About Anxiety

I wanted to talk about a sadly prevalent topic in the world today – anxiety – and help you understand the cause.

I’m not a doctor or therapist or even a psychologist, but I do think I’ve got some valuable insight to share.

You see, depression and anxiety are similar, but entirely different at the same time.

Depression often occurs with feelings of hopelessness, but it’s based on past experiences.

Anxiety, on the other hand, is rooted in fear of what’s to come in the future.

It’s no wonder that anxiety is through the roof during a global pandemic, as we have less certainty than we are used to having.

If you really dig deep, you can begin to work through your anxiety by managing your thoughts.

When you feel anxious, notice the thought running through your head.

It’s your thoughts that give you certain feelings, for better or worse.

And you can bring consciousness to your thoughts that lead to negative emotions and actually begin to change your thoughts, which totally changes how you feel!

It’s pretty amazing!

So, if you’re feeling anxious and the thought around it is how you’re going to figure out homeschooling your kids and managing work during a pandemic (PS - right there with you sister!), you can change that thought to something that serves you like…

I’ve gotten this far in life, and I’ll get through this great growth opportunity too.

My Thoughts on Body Confidence

I believe that you are beautiful from the inside out. That we should be judged by the content of our character, not our appearance, and that society applies too much value to achieve a certain aesthetic.

I also believe that the only opinion that matters is the opinion that we have of ourselves and that we have the power to determine how we feel about ourselves... and that has NOTHING to do with the way we look.

We should be judged by the kindness of our soul, the contribution we make in this world, and all of our positive energy. NOT the way that we look. And we can choose to change the metrics by which we DECIDE to judge ourselves.

Why do we feel like we have to choose?

Between the successful career and an amazing family?

Between taking care of our health and time with kids?

Between doing the things we love and fulfilling our obligations?

What if we could actually have it all?

The family, career, health/fitness, freedom…

Because it’s possible.

Most people just don’t believe it.

Life is about AND…

Having health AND success.

Having family AND self-care.

We’ve got to get out of the mindset that we can’t have it all so you can actually begin to allow it into your life.

It’s because they’ve decided that they want it all… and they’ve created it.

No matter where you are in your life right now, you can decide you’re going to have it all too.

Then, it’s a matter of taking the steps to create it. It’s as simple as that.

Discipline is overrated!

What if I told you that relying on discipline to beat your food cravings is a BAD idea – especially if you’re having cravings every day or night?

I mean, self-control is a good thing… but discipline? It can set you up for failure!

Here’s what I’m talking about…

Have you ever heard the old saying, “It’s easier to manage your money when you have some in your bank account”?

It’s the same thing with cravings and discipline! If you’re in a constant battle to keep your food cravings at bay, your discipline account is probably overdrawn.

But there are ways to refill your account. In fact, there are more than two dozen “cravings crushers” in our new ebook, Crush Your Cravings!

The REAL Magic Bullet

It’s no surprise that each year that goes by has more people on earth struggling with their weight.

And it’s certainly not for a lack of information out there.

With each year comes more info, books, diets, workout programs, gurus, and more.

The pill that “sets your metabolism on fire.”

The shake that “is every nutrient you need in a day.”

The workout that “melts fat.”

So, if there’s more information and help available than ever before, why do people increasingly struggle with their weight?

I’ll tell you the sad truth…

It’s because they want it to be easy, and when it’s not, they quit.

Or when life happens (which it always will), they fall off track.

People are so focused on reaching the end result of that perfect healthy body that they’re disappointed when it doesn’t happen in a few weeks.

That’s why gyms (pre-COVID) are so busy for part of January and then die off by February.

Of course, we want it to be easy!

And of course, there are no magic bullets. You simply don’t get around putting in the work.

So, if you want the REAL magic bullet, it’s this…

Fall in love with the process, and commit to seeing it through - no matter what.

That’s the only way to get where you want to go and stay there long-term.

I know it’s not a exciting answer, but it’s the truth.

Because all of those fake “magic bullets” don’t get you results anyway.
