From Tom's Trainer, Scott PhilbrickTo see the results Tom has received through hard work and determination has been very satisfying. Tom is a great example that if you want something bad enough you have to put the time in. Tom has done exactly that. He shows up early before every session, completes the recommended foam rolling and dynamic warm up and then works his tail off every session. Tom is a perfect example that the system works! I'm honored to be part of Tom's health and wellness and I'm excited to see where this journey goes and what else he can accomplish. From Tom:
About Tom's Trainer, Scott PhilbrickScott and I work well together and his approach is a perfect fit for me. Scott knows my limitations and abilities and helps keep me focused on my goals. Training at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness
From one of James' trainers, Scott PhilbrickThere's a laundry list of reasons why I am nominating James Jordan for client of the month. Here are just a few:
From James Jordan:Wilcox Wellness & Fitness has been great for me. I have tried working out at other gyms and facilities. I didn't feel as though I was getting much for results for the work I was putting in. I worked alone with little to no direction and would eventually convince myself to give up. With little time between work and family and not much for results, I had given up on working out.
There is no doubt that with a full time job and an active family life finding the time to workout is difficult. The schedule at Wilcox is flexible enough so the time can be found. If I can't get a GPT 3 at 9:30 in the morning, I can grab a GPT 2 at 4:00 in the afternoon and have just as good of a workout. If I miss my three sessions in the week I will grab a boot camp on Saturday. I have limited movement with my left elbow and this has never held me back because the trainers coach me through the work out and make the modificaions necessary for me to be successful. In the past, I have never worked out regularly for so long and enjoyed it so much. Each work out offers a great challenge and a huge reward when you’re done and exchanging high fives. I enjoy all the trainers and all the other clients in the groups The biggest thing I get from working out at Wilcox Wellness & Fitness is the trainers have every workout planned. I do not have to be a fitness expert or judge when to up my weight or reps. All I have to do is listen and follow directions. The groups are small enough so each trainer has the ability to give you the direction and encouragement you need, throughout the entire work out. Thanks Wilcox Wellness & Fitness for showing me working out can be enjoyable with positive results. Since I was a little girl, it has always been my dream to own my own business. I just didn’t know what type of business that would be. What I did know, was through that business, I wanted to work to make the world a better, more beautiful place. That is exactly what I wrote in my college acceptance essay to the University of Maine Business School. My favorite childhood book was Mrs. Rumphius – a story of a little girl’s great aunt, Mrs. Rumphius, who made the world a more beautiful place by spreading lupine seeds from Maine all over the world. I wrote in my essay that I did not yet know how I would make the world a better place but I knew I would do that through business. After school I was recruited to work for a company that sold scientific products into the biotechnology industry. I did feel as though I was making the world a better place because the scientists I was working with were working to solve problems like cancer, diabetes, and malaria. This however was not what set my soul on fire. Mike and I met in my last year of Undergrad at UMaine. Mike was a long time personal trainer and I was always so inspired by the work that he did with people and the impact that he is able to make on the lives around him. When people commit to health and fitness, everything else in their lives falls into place. It is absolutely amazing to me – they have a better relationship with their family, they are able to advance more quickly in their careers, and overall their outlook on life in general is so much more positive. This not only effects the individual who is benefiting from the healthy lifestyle but everyone surrounding them – their spouse, children, boss, employees, co-workers, and even the mail man. This is the change in the world that I am so honored and excited to be part of. In an effort to affect more people than Mike could train one on one, we opened Wilcox Wellness & Fitness in 2012. I believe that through health and fitness, we can make the world a better, more beautiful place to be. This is why in 2015, I decided to come on board with the business full time to help be a catalyst to that change. My goal is to help Wilcox Wellness & Fitness positively effect more of the people in our community. I am so excited to see the ripple effect this change will make in our world. Thank you to everyone who made our first annual 2015 Burpees for Turkeys event a great success. Through your efforts we were able to raise $6189 to support Manna's mission to feed the hungry this holiday season. That is 629 turkeys to feed 1,856 people this holiday season. A special thank you for all of the fitness professionals who together completed 1237 burpees for the event. Great job everyone!
