I have some amazing news that can help with that … exercise can actually make you feel HAPPIER – both immediately and in the long-term. ​


FIRST –
 people who get at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week are 30% more likely to say they feel happier vs. those who don’t … and it doesn’t matter what kind of exercise they do!
It could be yoga, jogging, or anything in between.

​This finding was part of a major review of 23 published studies into the connection between happiness and exercise, including people from basically every age, ethnicity and socioeconomic status.


Note: researchers still found higher “happiness scores” even in those who just worked out 1-2x a week.

SECOND – getting a cardio workout can help inoculate you against a bad mood for up to 12 hours!

According to research done at the University of Vermont, getting a 20-minute moderate-intensity workout in can boost your mood for hours – helping you to more easily shrug off stress.

Easy Frittata Breakfast Muffins

Have you ever noticed that some days, your breakfast keeps you feeling full and satisfied for hours, while other days it sets you up for a day of endless snacking?

In fact, I’ve actually heard some people say they’ve actually skipped breakfast because it makes them feel hungry all day.

I have two words that can help explain this: blood sugar!

Here’s what can happen:

  1. When you eat a meal with lots of sugar (like a bowl of cereal), it can raise your body’s blood sugar levels, which leads to ...
  2. Your body releasing insulin to help remove it from your bloodstream, which can lead to …
  3. A blood sugar crash, which can lead to ...
  4. Feeling hungry and tired, which can lead to ...
  5. Eating more sugar and …
  6. More insulin being released … and on and on and on!
You can see how starting your day with a jolt of sugar can create a vicious cycle?
 Well I have a solution that doesn’t involve skipping your first meal of the day. It’s all about the TYPES of food you eat for breakfast.

It’s about saying YES to foods packed with nutrients you need to keep your blood sugar stable – like protein, healthy fats, and fiber!
 And it’s also about making them as easy to grab as possible, so you don’t have to mess with cooking in the morning.
These Frittata Muffins are the perfect solution for your busy mornings.

I hope you LOVE this breakfast solution!  Feel free to mix it up and add different veggies - you can even omit the prosciutto completely and use muffin liners instead.

I like to make a double batch of this and freeze what I am not going to eat in the next few days.  Then, I can pull out a muffin from the freezer and reheat it in a snap in the toaster oven.

Marie Forleo has been named by Oprah as a thought leader for the next generation. Marie is known for helping entrepreneurs, artists, and multi-passionate go-getters dream big and create results and I just love her! She is known for a couple one liners that I cling to as a business owner when the going gets tough:

“Everything is figureoutable.”
&
​“The world needs that special gift that ONLY you have.”

I am currently devouring her new book. If you don’t know who Marie is - go get the book, binge watch her MarieTV videos, and subscribe to her podcast.




Since we are here, I thought I would bring one of her ‘Wordplay Challenges’ to you… The words you think, say, and reinforce will become your reality. Anytime you think you can’t do something - replace that with, ‘I won’t’. When you say ‘I can’t’ you are sending yourself an internal message that you are not in control of your time and your choices. Instead, replace ‘I can’t’ with something more honest, like ‘I won’t,’ or ‘I don’t want to.’ And see how that feels to you.

For bonus points, say the following phrase out loud:

“The truth is…
I don’t really want it that bad.
It’s not a priority right now.
It’s not that important.
I’m not willing to work that hard/take that risk/put in the effort/etc.”

This is how we TRAIN

This is how we train.  Here is a behind the scenes look at how our coaches work to continuously make our training program better.  Our team is researching, practicing, testing, and tweaking new training methods, tools, and techniques to help our clients move and feel better.  
​

Here Katie (our senior trainer) and Mike are working through some Functional Patterns movements with the goal of connected movement - making the body work together as a unit.  As you can see, this takes a lot of practice and patience. In time, the reward is less pain, better movement that you can have fun with, and ultimately a better quality of life. 

We would LOVE to invite you to come train with us!  And we promise, we won’t make you wear the FP feedback bands (although you might find them pretty cool!).

Here is a look at a private training session.  Katie has been training me one on one since the birth of our daughter.  I love having the focus of a private training session in addition to the other group training sessions that I attend.

I always come into this training session excited to learn something new and improve the way my body functions and moves.

In this video you will notice Katie’s constant coaching - she calls it ‘nit picky’, I call it love.  I love learning from her and getting just a little bit better in every session.

Best Ever Peanut Butter Chocolate Overnight Oats

Oh my g o o d n e s s, you are going to LOVE this oatmeal.  It tastes like a treat but it is chucker box full of nutrients and nourishment to FUEL your day.  

I am so smitten with this oatmeal that I recorded a video for you to see how simple it is to make.
Recipe: 
  • 1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon raw cacao nibs
  • dash cinnamon
  • water
  • milk to taste

Combine all ingredients in a mason jar.  Fill with either water or milk to the 'oats line.'  Let sit overnight in the refrigerator.  In the morning, add milk to reach desired consistency.
